Celtic’s victory over Hearts has created a nice little margin at the top of the Scottish Premiership standings this weekend. following Aberdeen and Rangers both dropped points, Celtic took advantage, defeating Hearts convincingly at Tynecastle following a tentative first-half performance from Brendan Rodgers’ side.
Celtic, on the other hand, looked like a different team after Rodgers’ half-time pep talk galvanised them into action, with goals from Kyogo Furuhashi, Nicolas Kuhn, and an Adam Idah double sealing the victory and returning the three points to Glasgow. However, there was an incident that Celtic supporters may have missed at Tynecastle when Idah scored his first goal, and the Republic of Ireland striker recounts what happened.

After Idah scored his first goal of the game, the Celtic striker immediately cupped his ears to the Hearts support and here, he explains why.
Idah told The Scottish Sun, “I really appreciated it. They were giving me a little while I was warming up, so I decided to reciprocate. I could definitely buy all of my Christmas presents with the pennies on the pitch. “You want to have an impact. I was overjoyed to receive the goals and three points. It was a terrific night all around.”

Idah concedes Celtic were not at their best in the first half at Tynecastle, as the Irishman reveals how travelling for international duty affected his teammates.
Idah went on to say, “It’s always difficult when the international break arrives; you have people who have just flown tremendous distances, and the training is probably not up to par. “In the first half, it wasn’t spectacular; it was a little slow. But in the second half, we came out and demonstrated what we’re all about.”
