Age UK Norwich confirmed as club’s nominated matchday charity
It is with great pleasure that Norwich City announces Age UK Norwich as their next matchday charity nominee.
Age UK The goal of Norwich, an independent organisation, is to enhance the quality of later life by collaborating with locals to build an inclusive and age-friendly city.
By offering over-50s chances and services that improve and safeguard their health and wellbeing, they hope to do this.
For many people in our community, Age UK Norwich is a lifeline, giving everything from independent advice and social club organisation to home care and keeping people safe and connected.
Below are just a few statistics about the charity from 2023:
- 3,620 people were given one-to-one support, with services such as health coaching and hospital discharge.
- Age UK Norwich delivered over 3,000 one-to-one coaching sessions to aid recovery from illness or surgery.
- They ran 370 social/activity club sessions to reduce social isolation.
- Over 3,100 befriending calls were made to support those feeling isolated.
- Over 1,770 welfare checks were made addressing issues such as falls, unsafe housing and nutrition.
“We are extremely grateful to Norwich City for choosing us as their matchday charity,” a charity representative stated.
“This is an amazing honour that will help people over 50 become more aware of the impact we make in our local community.”
“We will continue to offer vital support and companionship to those who need it most with every penny we raise with the football club.” I appreciate your help.
Age UK Norwich’s official matchday for City’s Sky Bet Championship matchup versus Plymouth Argyle is scheduled for Tuesday, November 26.
The privilege of choosing the game’s Community Hero will also go to the charity.
