The Las Vegas Raiders (2-8) have lost their last six games and face two straight AFC West divisional contests as Thanksgiving approaches. Antonio Pierce’s team will face the Denver Broncos (6-5) and their No. 3-ranked defence on Sunday before travelling to Kansas City to play the Chiefs (9-1) on Black Friday.
Before the Raiders could fully flip the page to Week 12, the league revealed some information on star pass rusher Maxx Crosby, who was held without a sack for the third consecutive game last week.
The NFL revealed its Week 11 punishments on Saturday, including two fines assessed against Crosby: one for unsportsmanlike behaviour (taunting) and another for unnecessary roughness (striking/kicking/kneeing) against the Miami Dolphins.
In total, the three-time Pro Bowler was fined $23,072 for the violations, which occurred in the first quarter of the Raiders-Dolphins game. The league office issued 19 fines in Week 11, the lowest total of any week this season.
However, Crosby has been penalised three and four times this season, and nine and ten times in his six-year NFL career. He was also punished two weeks ago for a late hit on Joe Burrow, the Cincinnati Bengals quarterback.
The 27-year-old defensive veteran has now been fined more than $150,000 dating back to 2019. Despite his three-game dry spell, Crosby has 6.5 sacks in nine games, putting him on track for his fourth double-digit sack season. He earned a career high of 14.5 in 2023.
