Bristol in pictures: Crocodiles and cricket
According to the weather calendar, autumn has arrived, and Bristol’s festival season is drawing to an end.
Instead of beer gardens, many are thinking about inside drinks, winter sports, and warmer clothing.
That being said, Gloucestershire has created the possibility of a thrilling conclusion to the cricket season. See down for more details.
One final blast: Although the infrastructure and stage on The Downs have been being dismantled this week, the Forwards Festival’s Sunday night headliners, LCD Soundsystem and Underworld, gave the audiences something to remember.
The shows continue: An Officer and a Gentleman is wrapping out its run at the Hippodrome this Saturday after packing them in this week. Six is the next international hit musical.
It’s him (or she) again. Years after the controversy over the possibility of a crocodile hiding in the River Avon, one has surfaced in this cove near Castle Park.
We shall never forget them: Hundreds of people flocked to Farrington Gurney, south of the city, for the 80th anniversary commemoration honouring the crew of a glider who perished in a September 1944 crash. The tragedy occurred when the men were being transported to the Battle of Arnhem, and a total of 23 men were murdered.
