Police and scenes of crime officers went to Birchington Avenue, in Grangetown, after an incident
Police have sealed off a road following a tragic stabbing incident.
Cleveland Police have opened a murder investigation and manhunt following the death of a 34-year-old man.
Officers and paramedics from North East Ambulance Services (NEAS) were dispatched to Birchington Avenue in the Whale Hill and Grangetown areas, where the street was closed from Wilton Way to Ainthorpe Road at 8 p.m. on Thursday. A doctor from the Great North Air Ambulance also arrived.
The stabbing occurred on the neighboring Lealholm Walk.
Photographer Terry Blackburn captured images of blue and white police tape cordoning off the road, as well as many police vehicles and policemen, including investigators. Scenes of crime police soon arrived, dressed in full white protective gear including hair nets, masks, and gloves.

‘Caught up in it’
A woman told Teesside Live her brother was at a house in the area last night, and he had told her there was a fight between several men and believes the victim became “caught up in it”.

Forensics are at the scene, where officers are removing items from the path and placing them into orange plastic bags.
Ambulance statement
A North East Ambulance Service spokeswoman stated:
We were summoned to a private address at 20:57 yesterday (November 21).
We deployed a clinical team leader, two ambulance crews, and were assisted by a doctor from the Great North Air Ambulance Service.
One patient was transported to the hospital by vehicle.
Hunt for ‘person responsible’
Senior Investigating Officer Matt Hollingsworth, of Cleveland Police’s Homicide and Major Enquiry Team (HMET), stated:
While we do lengthy investigations, I am interested in hearing from anyone who was in the neighborhood at the time of the incident and either witnessed what happened or has information.
I would also like to encourage anyone with information, CCTV, or dash cam footage to contact us.
I appreciate that the local community may be concerned, and I would like to use this opportunity to reassure locals that we will be working around the clock to identify and detain the person responsible.
There will be a heightened police presence with patrols in the area for your reassurance, and I encourage anyone with concerns to talk with an officer.
