Ruben Amorim’s latest Man Utd transfer plan could now spell very bad news for Wolves

For many clubs, the January transfer window is a time to determine what gaps need to be filled in order to have a successful second half of the season.

Due to Gary O’Neil’s limited defensive options, Wolves are prioritising the acquisition of a new centre-back in January.

Although promising player Yerson Mosquera had a permanent injury in September, captain Max Kilman was moved to West Ham without a clear replacement.

Wolves should be concerned about more than simply new arrivals, though, as the Old Gold are presently two points outside of safety and signing a new central defender may be crucial to their prospects of remaining in the Premier League.

Wing-back for the WolvesOne player who can attract transfer interest in January is Rayan Ait-Nouri.

After seeing Ait-Nouri thrive as an offensive force for O’Neil, scoring three goals and providing two assists this season from wing-back, Chelsea and Liverpool were previously connected to him.

O’Neil must keep the Ait-Nouri at Molineux until at least next summer since he is a huge fan of the team.

However, Fabrizio Romano has revealed that new Man United manager Ruben Amorim is already looking to recruit a new left-back for his system in 2025, making it increasingly difficult to hold onto the 23-year-old.

With two capable wing-backs required on either flank, Amorim hopes to use his exciting 3-4-3 scheme that worked at Sporting Lisbon at Old Trafford.

Although Ait-Nouri hasn’t been identified, Romano has stated that the Portuguese manager has more than three prospects on his list, and he may be one of them.

Ait-Nouri is one of Europe’s best wing-backs

Many people wouldn’t be surprised if Amorim included Ait-Nouri on their shortlist because his performance over the previous 12 months has shown him to be among Europe’s top wing-backs.
