A tragic incident unfolded in Manhattan when a truck collided with a group of people celebrating the Fourth of July. The vehicle, traveling at high speed, veered off the road and struck the crowd in Corlears Hook Park, Lower East Side, just before the fireworks display was set to begin. The accident claimed the lives of three individuals, with eight others injured, three of whom were critically hurt. Emergency responders worked quickly to extricate victims trapped under the truck, and authorities are investigating the potential role of alcohol in the crash. At the time of the crash, there was no indication that it was an act of terrorism.
