Wolves has gone undefeated in their last three Premier League games, indicating recent progress.
At Molineux, Wolves defeated Southampton for the first time this season, but it took two outstanding performances from Matheus Cunha to secure the three points.
Fortunately, Wolves has had a cutting edge up top with goals from Cunha and Jorgen Strand Larsen despite their terrible defensive play this season.
If Wolves want to move up the table, they will need to continue scoring goals.
Others must contribute, and ideally Carlos Forbs will soon start playing well for his new team.
Wolves winger Carlos Forbs scores for Portugal U21s
Carlos Forbs, who joined on loan from Ajax, was Wolves’ last summer transfer window acquisition.Forbs will need to be purchased by Wolves when he makes about ten appearances.
Forbs has had a rather quiet start at Molineux thus far.
Only one of his six games to far has been a start, and five of those have been in the Premier League.
He still needs to establish himself in the Wolves starting lineup, but after scoring for Portugal’s U21s against Slovakia, he should return to Compton with more self-assurance.
In their friendly victory last night, they prevailed 3-1, with Forbs scoring Portugal’s first goal after Slovakia had taken the lead through Sebastian Neybyla. The young player was on hand to score when the ball was rolled over to him, so it wasn’t a particularly memorable goal, but hopefully it will build his confidence.
Tom Kundbert, the author of the reputable website PortuGOAL, observed the match and declared Forbs to be “excellent” after entering the game in the second half.
With around ten minutes remaining, the Wolves player was pulled off after being brought down for a penalty, raising questions about his health.
It “looked bad at the time,” according to Kundbert, but Forbs emphasized that it was “nothing much” following the game.
Forbs must kick on at Wolves
Finding out that Forbs made a substantial contribution and accrued some valuable minutes for the Portugal U21 squad is fantastic.
The shift makes it difficult for him to develop a name for himself at Wolves, even though he hasn’t really taken off yet.
Forbs, the fastest forward in the Premier League, might be a useful asset for Wolves in the future.
It’s time for him to start providing some goals now that we’ve seen him land some really good positions.
Given his impressive record in the Manchester City academy, we know Forbs has a flair for goals; but, he must provide Wolves the goals Pedro Neto and Adama Traore were never able to produce.
