Keith Jackson has made bold prediction on Celtic target Lennon Miller
Celtic are apparently interested in signing Lennon Miller, a Motherwell youngster, in the January transfer window.
The 18-year-old is widely regarded as a terrific young prospect, and the Bhoys are expected to sign him when the transfer window reopens.
Rangers are also interested in Miller, but Marc Guidi believes Celtic are more likely to get him due to their financial power.
Keith Jackson also indicated that Celtic should be working behind the scenes to recruit Miller in January, although they may struggle to compete if Premier League clubs enter the picture.
Miller to get minutes for Scotland?
Scotland will face Poland in the Nations League encounter on Monday night, and Miller could get an opportunity to impress Steve Clarke.
According to Jackson of the Daily Record, Miller is unlikely to be chosen ahead of other experienced midfielders on the squad, but he should be integrated as quickly as possible.
He predicts Miller will become a “stalwart” for Scotland in the coming years.
Jackson said, “Miller will not start ahead of the midfielders Clarke has in his team. But the sooner he is accepted into the fold, the better. He’ll be a Scotland stalwart for about a decade.”
Celtic need to pay premium fee to land Miller
Brendan Rodgers will aim to add further quality to the squad in January, especially if they continue their good form in the Champions League.
Miller is a generational talent, and Motherwell will seek a sum of more than £4 million for their greatest asset.
Celtic demonstrated ambition in the summer window by spending heavily on Adam Idah and Arne Engels, and they should be able to match Motherwell’s asking price for Miller.
Following the international break, the Hoops will face Hearts in the Scottish Premiership away from Parkhead on Saturday, November 23.
