Leeds United ace returns from injury with immediate impact and full faith boss call but twist

A Leeds ace has made his return to action after a recent injury.

Max Wober, Leeds United’s defender, has scored in his first minutes back from injury.

Wober is back in the mix at Leeds after returning from knee surgery, but the Austrian has been an unused substitute in United’s previous three league games, with manager Daniel Farke persisting with first-choice centre-backs Joe Rodon and Pascal Struijk.
Wober was still called up to the Austria squad for this month’s Nations League fixtures, but the 26-year-old was assigned to the bench for Thursday’s meeting against Kazakhstan, where he was an unused replacement.
Wober, on the other hand, was picked to manager Ralf Rangnick’s starting lineup for Sunday evening’s home match against Slovenia, earning his first minutes for club or country since returning from injury.

Wober, who lined up next to Philipp Lienhart at centre-back, contributed to the counterattack that resulted in his goal through Romano Schmid with 27 minutes remaining.

Despite Wober’s lack of playing time since September, Rangnick showed complete faith in the Whites player by keeping him on the field for the rest of the game, in which his team appeared destined to win 1-0.

Slovenia, on the other hand, equalised with only nine minutes remaining by Adam Gnezda Cerin, resulting in a 1-1 tie.
