Even though the Premier League has taken a hiatus as attention turns to international sports, transfer rumors are still circulating as the January transfer window draws near. Top flight clubs have been connected to intriguing prospective targets in the final weeks before 2024 comes to an end.

During the international break, let’s examine some of the most recent connections between Wolves and Aston Villa.

£29m ‘enough’ for Villa to sign Arsenal target

Since the beginning of the season, Aston Villa has been connected to a deal for Kenneth Taylor, a midfielder for Ajax, after “scouting and monitoring” his current circumstances. Unai Emery’s team is one of those expressing interest in the 22-year-old, who has also drawn interest from Arsenal, Newcastle United, and Napoli, according to CaughtOffside.

All of the aforementioned teams are “watching” Taylor, but Ajax is unwilling to let him leave. A sum has been set, according to the report, and €35 million (£29 million) would be “enough to persuade” the Eredivisie team to cash in next year.

Taylor has provided six goals and four assists across all competitions for Ajax this season and hasn’t missed a game. The midfielder appeared in every game for the Dutch powerhouses last season and demonstrated his versatility by playing in attacking, central, and defensive midfield positions in addition to some time out wide on the left.

Wolves want forward ‘off their wage bill’

Even though Fábio Silva has made a comeback with Las Palmas, Wolves intend to completely let go of the forward in 2025. No matter how well he performs in Spain, the Old Gold “want him off the wage bill,” according to Molineux News.

When Silva was barely eighteen, Wolves paid £35 million to sign him in 2020. There was a lot of excitement about the forward when he debuted in the Premier League since many people predicted that he would be the next big Portuguese talent. But he has fallen short of these high standards, and in August he was sent out for his fourth loan away from Molineux.

Silva, 22, is under contract with Wolves until 2026, but the report says the club is looking to offload him sooner rather than later, even if he returns from Las Palmas with a fantastic season under his belt. Silva signed a one-year contract with Las Palmas after previously playing for Rangers, PSV Eindhoven, and Anderlecht. In his nine La Liga appearances thus far, Silva has scored three goals.
