Sport Witness claims that the £21 million summer acquisition is not playing for Brazil against Venezuela in their FIFA World Cup qualifying match because of a possible hip issue. At 9:00 p.m. UK time, Brazil will play Venezuela.
He and Guilherme Arana, the left-back for Atletico Mineiro, are currently receiving treatment for what have been called “not very serious” injuries. They will watch the match against Venezuela from the stands, but they will both be evaluated for their second qualifying match against Uruguay on Wednesday at 12.45 a.m. UK time.
“They are receiving medical treatment in accordance with the guidelines,” national team manager Dorvial Junior told TNT Brazil.
