At this moment, it is impossible to stop the Celtic winning machine.
The international break is necessary, on the one hand, since it gives everyone a chance to regroup and refuel after a harsh winter.
Celtic’s dominance in the Premiership, League Cup, and Champions League has slowed their progress.
Despite a difficult win against Kilmarnock, Brendan Rodgers’ team’s football has been consistently excellent, and fans have few complaints.
Many Celtic players have left for national duty, including Kyogo Furuhashi, who has returned to the Japanese squad.
That’s a lot of kilometers for Celtic’s starting forward, especially given Japan’s World Cup qualifier against China next Wednesday.
On that subject, you’d think many Celtic fans would be happy that their next league game will be played on a Saturday evening, but not everyone is.
John Hartson and Stephen McGinn defend Celtic’s 7:45 pm kick-off against Hearts on Sky Sports
However, former striker John Hartson and Celtic-daft Stephen McGinn had to defend that decision to a disgruntled Bhoys supporter on Go Radio, citing a variety of reasons, including concerns about a late kick-off in general and fans being in Edinburgh for the entire day, then venting their frustrations in the stands.
Hartson and McGinn made care to cut it short when it was brought up, and the latter went on to explain why Rodgers will be “happy” that a game would be played in the evening.
Hartson remarked, “We have seen other games this season, games at Aberdeen, the same type of kick-off.” “I believe they will attempt to organize many of the Scottish Premiership teams; they may have to start at that specific time.” The nights at Tynecastle on a Saturday night don’t seem like a big deal to me.
McGinn added, “The only thing I would have said is that the police would have been consulted.” It’s nighttime. Sky is looking to schedule games around this period. It’s a hugely big game for us domestically. The police would agree to get it on. I believe Brendan Rodgers will be pleased with that. For starters, he has three players overseas with Japan. Alistair Johnston is away with Canada. Auston Trusty might be away in America. That’s an extra seven or eight hours, in terms of that being a lunchtime kick-off on Saturday.”
Hartson then stated: “It’s great under the lights as well. I know what you are saying about the troublesome supporters and whether they are on the sauce all afternoon, then they all come steamed up and everything else. From a Celtic point of view, they wouldn’t mind coming to Hearts. They will probably come four or five. Come through with their kids. On a Saturday, by the way. You can wake up on the Sunday and you have all day Sunday to think about the game. I actually don’t think it’s a bad fixture. I get what you are saying about the support all afternoon. But that’s something Hearts have to deal with that.”
