Ipswich may already lose “powerful” £20k-p/w star as Juventus send scouts

Juventus sent scouts to watch one star player in action, suggesting that Ipswich Town could succumb to their own success after eventually winning their first Premier League game since returning to the top tier.

Ipswich transfer news

Ipswich, the only team still without a Premier League win this season, traveled to Tottenham Hotspur after Wolverhampton Wanderers defeated Southampton earlier in the weekend. But against a top six team, the Tractor Boys saved their best moment for when they needed it most. They startled the North London club to win what they believe would be the first of many historic victories this season.

A win over Spurs might be vital in the closing stages of the season since they are now one point above the Premier League’s bottom three. The fact that Liam Delap scored the game-winning goal late in the first half was not surprising.

This season, the summer acquisition has been one of the most promising players in the bottom half, and his ascent might not stop at Portman Road.

Tutto Juve claims that as the European powerhouses may start this season, Juventus has sent scouts to watch Delap.

Delap, who cost a reputed £20 million to acquire from Manchester City in the summer, has had a fantastic run of play, possibly better than anyone could have predicted, and is now the man most likely to lead Ipswich to victory. Therefore, it would be devastating to lose a player with this level of potential so early in his tenure at the club.

It remains to be seen, though, if the former Machester City youth standout can withstand the lure of a major club.

Ipswich cannot afford to lose “powerful” Delap

Whilst it’s easy to doubt Ipswich in their battle to survive in the Premier League, they have an asset that many clubs in a similar position often struggle to find and suffer the consequences as a result. At his disposal, Kieran McKenna has a natural goalscorer who looks likely to reach double figures for goals, having already found the back of the net six times in 11 Premier League games. Such a record is simply invaluable for any side, let alone a relegation candidate.

Ipswich-Liam-Delap

The Tractor Boys must wait until at least the summer transfer window, when they may have their survival certain and be getting ready for a second straight season, if European teams of Juventus’ caliber approach them.

£20,000 per weekOf course, Delap has received a lot of acclaim this season. According to the East Anglian Times, current England U21s manager Ben Futcher told Henry Winter: “Liam was an absolute handful.” He’ll match you if you want to go fight him. He will win the race if you choose to compete with him.

He is swift, strong, and in fantastic form in the Premier League, making him extremely challenging to deal with. As a top number nine, Liam will continue to grow.
