Free agent outfielder Juan Soto has meetings lined up with four teams this week in California, ESPN reported on Tuesday.
The 26-year-old had a strong 2024 season with the New York Yankees, hitting .288 with 41 home runs, 109 RBIs, and 128 runs scored.
In addition to the Yankees and the New York Mets, who are reportedly among the favorites to sign him, Soto will also meet with the Toronto Blue Jays and Boston Red Sox.
Soto is expected to secure one of the biggest and longest contracts in MLB history, with some experts predicting a deal of up to 14 years and a total worth between $500 million and $700 million.
A four-time All-Star, Soto has a career batting average of .285, with a .421 on-base percentage and a .532 slugging percentage. Over 936 games with the Washington Nationals (2018-2022), San Diego Padres (2022-2023), and Yankees, he has hit 201 home runs and driven in 592 RBIs. Soto won a World Series in 2019 and a batting title in 2020 with the Nationals.
