Jon Newsome frustrated during Leeds United loss at Millwall as Daniel Farke concern shared

Leeds United’s 1-0 Championship defeat to Millwall has left Jon Newsome upset.

The Whites were beaten in the second tier for the first time since losing 1-0 to Burnley on September 14.

Speaking on BBC Radio Leeds (6 November), Newsome discussed what he believes Daniel Farke will be concerned about following Leeds’ performance at The Den.

“This is becoming irritating because we are controlling possession but not scoring. “That would be my concern if I were Daniel Farke,” he stated.

“You can play pretty football but if you’re not performing at the top of the pitch it’s pointless” .

Leeds United should’ve performed better against Millwall. Except for Jayden Bogle, Farke chose a nearly unchanged team for West Yorkshire’s match against the Lions on November 6.

While the Englishman did not give a particularly awful performance, it appears that he might have done much more with the time he spent on the pitch.

The Whites are anticipated to compete for the crown this season, and if they continue to drop points and lose games to lower-ranked clubs in the league, they may as well kiss their title hopes goodbye.

Following their defeat to Neil Harris’ men and the result of Sheffield United’s game on Tuesday, a 2-1 victory over Bristol City, the West Yorkshire club has fallen a position in the division and is currently third in the table. On paper, Leeds’ next few Championship games appear promising, but if they perform like they did against Millwall in any of those games, it’s impossible to predict how many points they’ll win.
