A duo of famous experts are drooling over Brendan Rodgers’ team after their defeat over RB Leipzig.
Celtic’s performance against overmatched RB Leipzig has astounded two top analysts.
Brendan Rodgers’ side were the toast of the TNT Sports goal show after their thrilling triumph had James Horncastle, the unrivalled Italian football expert, waxing lyrical about a team that has the ability to scare the top teams in Europe when they are on their game. The brilliance of Nicolas Kuhn was noticed, but Horncastle was eager to discuss a kind of play he enjoys watching.
Speaking on TNT Sports, the commentator stated: “We had a debate after the Dortmund game about their approach being the problem. Instead, I believe Brendan will remark, “Our style, by sticking to it, is producing these results.” When Celtic perform well, they excel. They present problems for teams due to their slickness on the ball. Full kudos to them for returning and revealing slightly new aspects of themselves since (Dortmund).”
And if Horncastle was ecstatic, Owen Hargreaves, a two-time Champions League winner, was on cloud nine. The former Bayern Munich and Manchester United player believes Rodgers and his team can beat anyone at home if they play their best.
Hargreaves added, “We know RB Leipzig is a terrific team, but to be honest, Celtic totally smashed them. Kuhn was superb tonight, cutting in with his left foot; he is so at ease in possession. And once Celtic Park starts going, they make things difficult. They are more than capable of doing so at home, thanks to the crowd and the way they approach a game.”
