Leicester City fans share how they really feel about Jose Mourinho replacing Steve Cooper as manager

Leicester City fans are growing tired of having Steve Cooper as their manager just a few months into the season.

After Enzo Maresca left, Steve Cooper took over at the King Power dugout throughout the summer.

The Argentine immediately got Leicester City back into the Premier League, but he soon left for a more prominent position at Chelsea.

Cooper is having trouble getting going at Leicester, while Maresca has the Blues back in the running for a spot in the top four.

With the exception of two victories in October against Southampton and Bournemouth, the Foxes’ performance has been essentially dreadful.

Considering that the Tractor Boys have yet to win a league game this season, Leicester should be defeating Ipswich Town, who they most recently drew 1-1 with, if they hope to avoid dropping.

Poor results and questionable selection calls have seen Leicester fans call for Cooper to be sacked recently.

Leicester City fans make feelings on Jose Mourinho appointment clear

Middlesbrough manager Michael Carrick has been suggested as a potential replacement for Cooper as dissatisfaction with the former Nottingham Forest manager grows.

More lately, there has been conjecture that Jose Mourinho would one day be a viable candidate for Leicester.

Although he presently leads Fenerbahce, the former Chelsea legend has hinted at a possible return to the Premier League to manage a team that does not participate in Europe.

Following Cooper, Leicester supporters have now been asked if they would like to see Mourinho join their team, and their response is unambiguous.

“It wouldn’t be easy sailing, but what a ride it would be and possibly one of his greatest challenges,” one fan said.

A second added: “That’s like saying, you’ve just got in from work and it’s chicken and rice for dinner, but your missus asks if you fancy a takeaway instead, the answer is very simple.”

A third Leicester supporter stated: “Without a doubt. Similar football to Cooper but with a winning mentality, not a survival mentality.”

“Shouldn’t even be a question, but he will not leave yet, maybe next year or in two,” remarked another Foxes supporter.

One person wrote: “I would welcome the special one with open arms!!!” Another added: “Yes, anyone got to be better than Cooper.”

“I would need to think about it, for about a millisecond, before saying yes,” a seventh Leicester supporter wrote. However, that will never occur.

“Definitely, would be the best bet possible in a relegation battle, even more considering that the best option available is Moyes,” an eighth person said.

When Leicester City could sack Steve Cooper

Last month, victories over Southampton and Bournemouth reduced Cooper’s workload a little.

However, the 46-year-old is once again under fire after suffering a 5-2 crushing defeat at the hands of Manchester United and drawing with Ipswich.

Leicester has a challenging schedule ahead of them, which includes games against Chelsea, Newcastle United, and Manchester United.

Cooper might be sent packing if the team’s performance doesn’t improve over the following six games.
