Following a huge altercation during their EFL Trophy match against Birmingham City, Shrewsbury Town was fined £2,500 by the FA.

After Taylor Perry’s late challenge on Blues teammate Scott Wright in the 68th minute of the match at the Croud Meadow, both teams were given penalties.

After Perry challenged him late in the game, the Blues player, who finished with two goals, responded aggressively.

Both groups of players pushed and shoved after the tackle. The FA accused both clubs of failing to make sure their players didn’t act inappropriately or provocatively during the event.

The league leaders in League One, the Blues, have been fined £7,500.

Both teams acknowledged the accusation, and they will play each other again in league competition in Shropshire at the end of this month.
