Bryan King believes Everton would be a good “stepping stone” for West Brom star Tom Fellows.
The ex-Goodison scout thinks the Toffees would be a good place for the 21-year-old to continue his football education.
According to Alan Nixon via his Patreon (27 October), Everton are checking on Fellows and have sent a delegation to look at the England Under-21 international.
And King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – thinks the move would suit the player.
“I think Everton could be a good stepping stone for Fellows,” King said.
“They’re an excellently equipped club who will be moving to a brand-new stadium next year. They have got a good training ground.
“The group of players at Everton is one or two steps higher than where he is at the moment. Therefore, in terms of his football education, it would be a good stepping stone.”
Everton to sign West Brom forward Tom Fellows?
Supporters at Goodison Park probably won’t like the thought of being used as a stepping stone. However, unfortunately, that is the situation the club currently find themselves in.
If West Brom were to miss out on promotion, and the Toffees were to remain in the Premier League and make a move for Fellows, it is hard to imagine he’d decline.
However, a move to Goodison Park, or Bramley Dock Moore as it will be, likely isn’t Fellows’ end goal.
Therefore, Sean Dyche, the club and its supporters will likely need to accept that Fellows might have his eye on a bigger move after his time with Everton is over.
However, as long as he performs well for the Toffees if he is signed, the club likely wouldn’t begrudge him eventually moving on, especially not if he went on to fetch a bigger fee than the one he was signed for.
