Why Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford is not involved against Plymouth Argyle

Prior to Leeds United’s home game against Plymouth Argyle, Patrick Bamford was dealing with an adductor issue.

The striker’s exclusion from the matchday selection sparked some curiosity.

LeedsLive, however, is aware that Birmingham is not playing today because of illness rather than an injury. For

Bamford, it has been a patchwork campaign. The 31-year-old is yet to start in the Championship and has not scored

in six games. In April, he scored his final goal for the Whites.

Gelhardt has no place in the United team either. The adaptable attacker has not been able to overcome a hip issue.

However, Max Wober, who has recovered from his knee injury, has been added to the substitutes bench. Wober is joined on the bench by young Sam Chambers.

Despite being a major doubt due to a hamstring issue, Daniel James was cleared to participate. He maintained his

lead against Manor Solomon.

Wilfried Gnonto, a winger, and center-back Joe Rodon have both received four yellow cards this season. They begin

today, but suspension is only one booking away.

After being held to a goalless draw by Bristol City the previous time out, United is hoping to go back to winning ways

going into today’s match.

Leeds United XI vs Plymouth: Illan Meslier; Sam Byram, Joe Rodon, Pascal Struijk, Junior Firpo; Joe Rothwell, Ao Tanaka; Daniel James, Brenden Aaronson, Wilfried Gnonto; Joel Piroe.
