Newcastle United now unlikely to move for Nottingham Forest star due to one issue.

As the January transfer window draws near and some teams consider various options, Nottingham Forest will be trying to hang onto a handful of their best players.

Given that his current contract is about to expire in the summer, Ola Aina is one player who has drawn a lot of interest.

One of the most recent teams to express interest is AS Roma, who have Aina on their list of possible January left-back acquisitions.

Following his stellar first eight Premier League appearances for Forest, Nikola Milenkovic is another player who has drawn interest from Newcastle United.

Chelsea is interested in Murillo, but they are now put off by the £70 million asking price.

It’s interesting to note that Newcastle and one player not before mentioned have been involved in an update.

It will be difficult for Newcastle United to sign a Nottingham Forest player in January.

After signing Anthony Gordon, Newcastle United has seen great success, and it appears they have their eye on a winger at the City Ground.

It’s interesting to note that Miguel Almiron was reportedly offered to Forest on the day of the deadline following the Magpies’ attempt to recruit Anthony Elanga.

However, it was left at that when Evangelos Marinakis showed little interest in a deal.

It now looks like the Tyneside team will have trouble signing him in January once more.

Newcastle is unlikely to be able to sign Elanga when the transfer window opens because of some PSR difficulties, according to iNews.

PSR is said to still influence the club’s thinking, and Elanga is not going to be inexpensive.

The Nottingham Forest season thus far for Anthony Elanga

In the current season, Anthony Elanga hasn’t fully lived up to the expectations of many. He has one assist to his credit, but he hasn’t scored yet.

Elanga’s ranking as the second-fastest player in the Premier League this season, surpassing Erling Haaland of Manchester City, is a plus.

Given his present form, it might be difficult to refuse a fee of around £50 million in January, but given Newcastle’s current circumstances, that doesn’t appear to be the case.

In any case, at 22, he is still young and has a lot of untapped potential.
