Dramatic moment police use chainsaw to go into house as they launch drugs operation
They recovered huge amounts of cas
Ian Bartholomew, detective inspector in Gwent Police’s severe and organised crime branch, stated, “These warrants
are part of our ongoing work to remove drugs from our streets because we know that drugs ruin lives and blight our
communities.”
We’re resolved to stand together with our communities and show that we are all against those who take advantage of
the poor in our society. Based on preliminary information, we believe these individuals were heavily involved in the
supply of Class A drugs, but we are still investigating the drugs we have collected under these orders.
Gwent Police detective inspector Ian Bartholomew, from the serious and organised crime unit, said: “These warrants
form part of our ongoing work to remove drugs from our streets as we know that drugs ruin lives and blight our
communities.
“We’re committed to standing with our communities to show that it is all of us against them when it comes to
individuals who prey on the vulnerable in our society. We’re currently analysing the drugs that we’ve seized on these
warrants but we suspect from early indications that these people were heavily involved in the supply of Class A
drugs.”
‘Substantial’ amounts of cash recovered by police Officers say the amount of money found is still being counted
Along with other items thought to be criminal property, officers recovered a significant quantity of cash from the
properties during the warrants, which DI Bartholomew said. The officers are now counting this amount. Since the
effects of drug dealing are felt at all societal levels, I am appreciative of the cooperation of all the officers who
participated in this operation as we all work together to combat serious and organised crime in Gwent.
