Rangers vs St Mirren: TV channel, kick-off time, team news, referee & VAR

Rangers are hoping to get their Scottish Premiership campaign back on track against St Mirren at Ibrox after putting up their best performance of the season against FCSB in the Europa League.

The team led by Philippe Clement has had a quite uneventful week.

Which team shows up when St Mirren arrives in Glasgow will depend on their past performances, which range from the low of that dreadful loss at Kilmarnock to the highs of their largest European success since 2007 – Rangers’ exciting victory over the Romanian giants, led by Vaclav Cerny.

Rangers, who are currently six points behind Aberdeen and Celtic at the top of the Premiership standings, cannot afford to lose any more games.

The giants from Glasgow will also be hoping to escape falling prey to that so-called “new manager bounce.” After three straight losses, Sunday’s opponents, St. Mirren, have a new manager in place in the form of former Motherwell manager Steven Robinson.

Last time out, Hearts thrashed the Paisley team 4-0.

Everything you need to know about the Buddies match is provided below by Rangers News, including information on how to watch on TV, the most recent team news, an injury roundup, and the officials that have been appointed.

Rangers vs St Mirren kick-off time

Rangers welcome St Mirren to an expectant Ibrox on Sunday, October 27 with the kick-off set for 3pm BST.

Rangers vs St Mirren TV channel

There will not be a live television coverage of Rangers’ eighth game of the new league season.

Instead, before going to Fir Park on Sunday, Sky Sports will broadcast the Edinburgh derby between Hibernian and Hearts at midday. Celtic, the current champions, are welcomed by Robinson’s former employers.

RangersTV will broadcast the St Mirren match for Rangers fans outside of the UK and Ireland if they have an international subscription.

Additionally, BBC Sportsound will cover the event, with radio commentary starting at 3 p.m.

Rangers team & injury news

Cyriel Dessers and Tom Lawrence were substituted off due to injuries against FCSB, so Clement will be worried about their fitness. A uncommon start at the top could go to Hamza Igamane if Dessers is not available.

The Moroccan created his account late on Thursday, justifying comparisons to Rangers legend Alfredo Morelos.

Mohamed Diomande might start in the number 10 position as a result of Lawrence’s absence. Vaclav Cerny’s second goal of the evening was set up by Diomande, who took the Welshman’s place against FCSB.

In the meantime, Kevin van Veen, the striker who was recently linked to Rangers, Alex Iacovitti, and Richard Taylor are all unavailable for St. Mirren. But Connor McMenamin ought to come back.

Referee & VAR

On Sunday, Calum Scott will be the guy in the center. Although the official has not officiated a Rangers game this season, he has issued red cards in two of his previous three Scottish Premiership games.

Linemen Andy Milne and Dougie Potter will help Scott. On the blue side of Glasgow, Greg Aitkin and Ross Hardie will be in the VAR truck, hoping for a fairly straightforward afternoon.
