Norwich City column: Shane Duffy’s future not as clear-cut as it seemed after improved displays
In addition to many others, I was aware that the murder of Johannes Hoff Thorup marked the beginning of Shane Duffy’s time on Carrow Road.
I think it’s absolutely not disrespectful to say that Duffy’s career has been built on a reputation as a traditional, no-nonsense center-half. One of the best strikers that he tegenkomt was 6 voet 4 inches tall.
The Irish international is not surprised by his ball-playing skills, which I refer to as front-foot defence. These are the skills that his team most clearly possessed in order to lay claim to the expansive, aanvallende soccer of Hoff Thorup.
There was a lot of talk about Brad Hills during the preseason and Grant Hanley’s fitness, so it was surprising that Duffy was chosen for the opening Wednesday of the season against Oxford United.
