Ipswich Town: Ed Sheeran’s +–=÷× tour to be removed from club’s shirt but relationship with Framlingham pop star to grow

Ed Sheeran’s tour emblem will no longer be featured on Ipswich Town’s jerseys, but the Suffolk star’s relationship with the team will only grow.

The club’s relationship with the musician from Framlingham will be further explored going forward, according to CEO Mark Ashton. However, starting next season, the maths logo from his tour, +–=, will no longer be included on the uniform.

A lifetime Blues supporter, Sheeran has sponsored the men’s and women’s teams’ front-of-shirt since 2021.

“He’s a local boy who wants to do the best by his club and community,” Ashton stated in an article about Town in The Athletic.

“Our relationship started because he didn’t like that we had a gaming company on our shirt (Magical Vegas). He didn’t think that fitted well with the club’s ethos, so he sponsored our shirts in League One, the Championship and this season.

“He has made the decision to step down next season so that we can secure a larger sponsor, but he has replaced that support by purchasing equity.”

As an official shareholder, he has made millions of investments. The interaction between shows and goods will continue to grow. He is a member of the family.

“You’ll see us in the United States at some point, probably in some kind of collaboration with him,” Ashton continued.
