Ian Wright suggests one Premier League club were shocked at how good Everton have been

Everton have been a team consistently embroiled in relegation battles of late, and as such the perception of them has shifted.

Previously seen as a rock-solid institution capable of troubling anyone in the division, their reputation has suffered as a result of their erratic performance in recent years.
Sean Dyche has done well to partly restore some of that fear factor, even if the football played is far from scintillating, providing a defensive discipline that they had lacked under past managers.

However, despite this evident improvement under his leadership, some still overlook the Toffees.

 

They do this at their own peril.

Ian Wright thinks Everton will have stunned Premier League rivals

When discussing the relegation battle on The Overlap, which aired earlier today, Ian Wright and Roy Keane agreed on what these promoted sides consistently fail to do.

After all, all three teams who rose to prominence last season were relegated, and a similar fate is likely this season.
The Premier League’s quality is always improving, and as a result, the gap between it and the Championship is widening.

Wright, who often praises Everton, believes that these clubs misjudge the difference in the level of teams they would face after promotion.
