Hull FC reveal 4 reasons why they lost IMG Grade A status

Hull FC

Hull FC has provided an explanation for why they are the only team to drop from Grade A status based on the 2023 provisional IMG scores to the current official ones.

Nine teams will be recognized as Grade A in 2025, despite Hull FC losing their Grade A status. This is because three other clubs moved up from Grade B to the exclusive group of Grade A teams.

Recall that each club can receive up to 20 points based on five criteria: stadium, community, finance, fandom, and performance. A team needs to score 15 points or more to be deemed Grade A, which ensures a position in the Super League.

According to today’s official scores, Hull FC will rank tenth, the highest team not to reach Grade A, after being tentatively scored at 15.05 in 2023, meaning they barely made it into the group of Grade A teams.

Since the top division will once again consist of 12 teams, that is sufficient to maintain them in the Super League for the time being. However, if more teams raise their scores in the upcoming years, being a Grade A club is the only way to ensure that.

Hull FC has attempted to explain to supporters why they have witnessed such a drop in points and grade in response to their score.
