“They’ve never spoken to the people” – Major figure accuses Friedkin Group of displaying ‘unbearable arrogance’

Former AS Roma football director Walter Sabatini has accused Everton’s possible owners, the Friedkin outfit, of ‘unbearable arrogance’ in their management of the Italian outfit.

Tuttomercatoweb covered Sabatini’s comments to Il Messaggero today, in which he slammed the American owners.

The Friedkins are set to take over Everton in the next weeks, having reached an agreement with Farhad Moshiri to acquire the club in September.

Their objective, according to their own words, is to build a partnership between Everton and Roma, which they have owned since 2020.

While the takeover at Everton is being completed, they are trying to put out fires in Rome after a strong reaction from the crowd to the firing of club hero.

He was hired as manager last season and given a new contract in the summer, but was fired after a poor start to the season.

That has caused a heated reaction from the fandom, which has already forced CEO Lina Souloukou’s resignation and plastered Rome with posters demanding that the American owners leave. Another protest is scheduled for this week ahead of the meeting with Inter Milan.

Several Roman figures, including Claudio Ranieri, have denounced the potential Everton owners, and Sabatini is the latest to join the clamor.

“Foreigners must be allowed time to settle in, even if Roma appear to be unaware of their surroundings, just as the Friedkins were. “They never spoke to anyone; it was an unbearable display of arrogance,” he claimed.

“I never would have kicked De Rossi out. If they summoned him back, it would be detrimental to both Juric and Daniele since he would return to the locker room weakened. Mourinho? Aside from winning a cup, I haven’t noticed any rewards.
