Leeds United receive triple injury boost ahead of Sheffield United showdown

Leeds United have received a triple injury boost ahead of Friday’s Yorkshire derby against Sheffield United. Boss Daniel Farke has stated that wingers Manor Solomon and Daniel James are available to play the Blades after recovering from injuries.

Tottenham loanee Solomon and Wales international James resumed full training last week. “It’s good to have them back,” Farke added.

Defender Max Wober had meniscus surgery earlier this month and was anticipated to be out of action for six weeks, but Farke says he is ahead of schedule. Although Wober is not yet ready to be considered for selection, Farke believes the centre-back could return to international duty before the next international break.

The German stated that United has no “new injuries” to deal with, but will have to make “late decisions” on his international roster. Twelve senior players left after their final Championship match with Sunderland.

“It’s always tricky during the international break for a team with so many players away,” Farke told reporters. “I also spoke about my attitude; I’m having trouble understanding the fixture list for Friday night after the international break.”

“We have some players who arrived late today. We’ll have them back late today. Once we play on Saturday, you will have at least one training session with the team. Only certain players will be able to participate in tomorrow’s rehabilitation session.

“It’s upsetting and sad since it’s a fantastic game. Normally, both teams want to perform at their best, but Friday evening is a little disappointing; we are aware of the timetable, so we have no complaints. It’s tricky without team training to prepare, but we try to find good alternatives.”

Ethan Ampadu, the club captain, and Ilia Gruev (both knee) are out with long-term injuries.
