Anthony Gordon reacts to Elliot Anderson’s England u-21 MOTM display

Nottingham Forest signed 11 new players during the summer transfer window and one of those was Elliot Anderson who joined from Newcastle.

The player signed as part of a deal that saw Odysseas Vlachodimos leave Forest and join Newcastle, with both teams aiming to exceed the PSR requirement.
Anderson signed for the club for £35 million, and the agreement appeared promising from the start.

Alan Shearer has previously lauded Anderson this season, and it appears that Newcastle didn’t want to sell him.

Eddie Howe spoke out about the trade when it happened, and Newcastle was forced to make a decision since they faced a significant points loss.

Anderson has settled in well at Forest and, since joining, has pledged his international allegiance to England, playing for the under-21s.

Anderson suffered a small injury in preseason, and Forest may have thought their luck had run out, but it turned out to be nothing major, and he is swiftly becoming a key player.

Elliot Anderson stars for England under-21s vs Azerbaijan

This was a piece of cake for Ben Futcher’s young Three Lions team at Ashton Gate, as they qualified for the under-21 European Championship with ease.
England won 7-0, and Anderson will always remember this as the game in which he scored his maiden international goal for the Three Lions.

The dynamic talent began the game in central midfield and performed admirably throughout as Azerbaijan were defeated.

Nuno Espirito Santo will be pleased with this performance, and given Forest’s lack of midfielders for Monday’s encounter, it will be a welcome lift.

After the game, Anderson sent a message on Instagram, featuring a photo of himself with his Player of the Match award.

He wrote: “First goal in an England shirt. 7-0 victory in Bristol.”

Anthony Gordon reacts to Elliot Anderson performance

Anderson and Gordon played together for Newcastle, and both helped the club reach the Champions League group stages last season.

Following yesterday night’s performance, Gordon kept it simple, posting an emoji on the player’s post.
Other Newcastle players reacted as well, with Lewis Hall joining in, demonstrating his popularity in the St James’ Park dressing room.

Their loss is Forest’s gain, though, and the Reds may have struck gold with this deal for Anderson.
