It might be a busy January for Sunderland. To learn out their fate, however, they may be waiting on agreements elsewhere.

In other news, Manchester United is also interested in Chris Rigg after his great season debut under Regis Le Bris.
The 17-year-old Rigg has started the Black Cats’ last eight Championship games and scored two goals.
Rigg is also a target for Real Madrid; previously in the season, teams like Borussia Dortmund were also mentioned.
However, Sunderland may be watching the Galacticos in front of January.
Real Madrid eyeing £125m-rated Florian Wirtz
Florian Wirtz, a midfielder for Bayer Leverkusen, is the subject of a lot of discussions before January.
According to sources, German champions Leverkusen are seeking £125 million for the 21-year-old, who is considered Real Madrid’s long-term ambition and is considered to be Luka Modric’s heir.
But it has also been said that Madrid sees Rigg as a possible backup addition in case they are unable to acquire Wirtz.
Ahead of the January transfer window, Wirtz is also desired by Barcelona, Manchester City, and Bayern Munich.
Rigg is a far less expensive option than Wirtz for Madrid, as Sunderland has been instructed to demand £25 million for him.
Sunderland owners may have one eye on Real Madrid in January
The Sunderland owners currently possess a very valuable first-team roster, and their value will only increase as the season progresses.
Rigg’s contract expires in 2027. As was the case with Jack Clarke, the club can wait until their valuation is satisfied, giving them some leeway in the event of a transfer.
