University of Southampton becomes EDS Sponsor
The University of Southampton has been named the EDS’s official front-shirt sponsor.
With great pleasure, Eastleigh Football Club announces that the University of Southampton will be the Elite Development Squad’s official sponsor (EDS).

collaboration. The institution is eager to help the future generation of Spitfires who are developing via Eastleigh FC’s Academy.
As part of the new agreement between the two parties, Eastleigh Football Club will have access to Wide Lane Sports Ground to use as a
training facility hub which includes a grass pitch, a brand-new cork, all-weather surface pitch, a strength and conditioning unit, and a
designated Eastleigh FC changing room for both the first-team and the EDS to use.
This partnership ensures that both the University of Southampton and the Eastleigh community benefit from shared expertise, resources,
and opportunities for active participation and personal development.
Trudi Vout, the director of Residences, Sport and Community at the University of Southampton, said: “As its heart, football brings
communities together and acts as a catalyst for good through the love of the game.
We are pleased to sponsor the Academy of Eastleigh FC, which shares our common goal of inspiring the next generation by creating an
community that lowers barriers and transforms lives.
“With the support of the University, our top-notch Wide Lane facilities will enable the academy players to reach their maximum
potential.”
Vicepresident of Eastleigh Football Club Thomas Coffey added: “We are delighted to announce our partnership with the University of
Southampton.” As students, we tried to get in touch with the universities in an effort to establish a foundation of support and solidify
ties with the local community.
