Norwich City: Errol Mundle-Smith tipped to follow Jon Rowe’s footsteps.
This post is part of Football League World’s ‘Terrace Talk’ series, which features personal comments from FLW Fan Pundits on breaking news, teams, players, managers, possible signings, and more.
Norwich City has seen a recent influx of talented players at Carrow Road, including some rising stars.
Jon Rowe and Abu Kamara are the most recent departures from the football club after shown potential as young players, while Alex Matos and Bali Mumba were also on the books at a young age.
As a result, the East Anglian outfit’s next star is always in the spotlight, with Errol Mundle-Smith being one player who has had a lot of people talking at such a young age.
We spoke with Football League World’s Canaries fan commentator Zeke Downes about the young sensation, who he believes has the potential to be a breakout player for the Norfolk club.
Errol Mundle-Smith shines in Norwich City’s youth setup.
Mundle-Smith, like Kamara and Rowe before him, has built a strong reputation inside Norwich’s academy system over the last two seasons, demonstrating a natural feel in front of goal.
Last season, the 18-year-old scored three times in seven Premier League 2 games for Norwich City’s development team, totaling 12 goals across the under-18 and under-21 age categories. He has also scored five goals in six games this season.
A brace against a youthful Southampton team drew the attention of those with one eye on developments within the City junior setup. Another goal against Manchester United’s academy will only add to his blossoming reputation.
Downes identified the teenage striker as the next great potential at Carrow Road, after signing his first professional contract earlier this year.
When asked about the issue, Downes remarked, “I believe the next kid to break through at the club will be Errol Mundle-Smith.
“I believe it is easier for attacking players to break through because scoring a lot of goals makes you seem good.
