‘Unrecognisable’: Nottingham Forest begin multimillion-pound training ground renovation
The Premier League club has made significant renovations to their training facility as they strive for a top-10 finish.
Nottingham Forest has completed a substantial refurbishment of its training facilities, representing a significant
investment in player performance, conditioning, and rehabilitation.
The multi-million-pound summer renovation includes a cutting-edge 405 square-metre gym, new physio and
rehabilitation rooms, and improved changing room facilities such as a sauna, ice baths, and hot baths to aid in
muscle regeneration. These enhancements are intended to raise Forest’s infrastructure to Premier League levels, in
keeping with their goals both on and off the field.
A prominent aspect of the renovation is the redesigned dining area, which now includes a high-end kitchen for the
club’s chefs and nutritionists, a live cooking station, more seating, and a permanent coffee barista. The lounge room,
framed by floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the training pitches, provides players with a relaxing environment
complete with a pool table, gaming stations, and table tennis, fostering team cohesiveness and mental well-being.
Communication between staff and players has also been prioritized, with new breakout rooms designed for one-on-
one coaching and performance evaluations. To improve the quality of training session analysis, the academy has
renovated offices, added a new boardroom, and installed a video analysis suite with a direct balcony overlooking the
training ground.
This redevelopment builds on previous work on two new hybrid pitches, which are now identical to the playing
surface at the City Ground. Forest captain Ryan Yates praised the overhaul, pointing out the significant increase in
the club’s facilities. “When we were promoted, the pitches were not of the highest quality. They are now nearly
identical to the City Ground, which is vast. “It’s helping us become better players,” Yates explained.
