U21 Germany v U21 Bulgaria - UEFA Under21 EURO Qualifier

Germany U-21 qualified for the 2025 UEFA European Under-21 Championship with a 2-1 victory over Bulgaria on Friday, with Maximilian Beier scoring.

Maximilian Beier scored a goal to help Germany U-21s qualify for the UEFA European Under-21 Championship next summer. In only nine minutes against Bulgaria, the Borussia Dortmund striker scored with a stunning header from Rocco Reitz’s cross.

Bulgaria’s Nikola Iliev leveled before VfB Stuttgart’s Nick Woltemade converted the game-winning penalty in the second half.

Beier was replaced in the 92nd minute after the Germany U-21s had already won the game. The 21-year-old will seek to gain confidence from his goal and performance, after failing to make an impression since joining Borussia Dortmund from TSG Hoffenheim in the summer.

On Friday, Pascal Groß played for Germany’s senior squad against Bosnia and Herzegovina. Deniz Undav’s brace delivered three points for Julian Nagelsmann’s side, who went two points clear at the top of their Nations League group.

Waldemar Anton, a Borussia Dortmund player, came on as a late substitute. While Nico Schlotterbeck was an ineffective substitute for Germany.

Jamie Gittens came off the bench for the England U-21s, who won a hard-fought comeback victory over Ukraine. James McAtee scored a late brace to almost guarantee England’s spot in the 2025 European Under-21 Championship.
