Steve Bruce edges Chris Davies despite Birmingham City’s ridiculous run
Chris Davies has fallen short for the second successive month despite Birmingham City’s strong start to the League One season.
Despite Birmingham City won every game in September, Chris Davies was not chosen as the League One manager of the month.
After winning in September against Wrexham, Rotherham United, and Peterborough, Blues secured the top spot in League One. However, Steve Bruce, who is currently in charge of Blackpool, edged over Davies for the position. Davies has now missed out in straight months after Wrexham coach Phil Parkinson earned the accolade for August.
In September, Blackpool triumphed over Exeter City, Charlton, Huddersfield, and Burton Albion, gaining one more victory than Blues and moving up the table into the play-off picture.
Bruce stated, “The team has performed incredibly well since our arrival here last month, so this award is well-deserved.” “Since I joined the Club, the first two weeks have been quite busy, with matches happening every three or four days. We have got to be happy with the start we have made, and the players have done an amazing job of assiduously absorbing our ideas and putting them into practice so rapidly.
“If we want to succeed, we need to keep doing the same things over the next few months, and I’m sure we have a strong enough group to push through this season.”
