The Leicester player says, “Status is good” and downplays concerns over an injury.

Prior to the international break, Leicester City defender Jannik Vestergaard has emphasised that he is healthy and playing well with no long-term problems.

Speaking with V2, the defender discussed the international break as well as his most recent injury that has prevented him from playing for Leicester since the end of August.

He was on the bench for Leicester’s match against Aston Villa on August 31, although he began the season in the centre of the defence for the team’s draws with Tottenham and Fulham.

From then on, he has not been included in the team, missing the 1-0 victory over Bournemouth, the 4-2 loss to Arsenal, and the draws with Crystal Palace and Everton.

Although Vestergaard’s absence remained unexplained, it was noteworthy since he was a vital member of Leicester’s squad during their Premier League comeback season, making 44 appearances across all competitions.

He is included in Denmark’s team to play Spain and Switzerland during this international break, despite his absence from the club level.

However, the 32-year-old has maintained that his absence from Leicester is just precautionary and that nothing terrible is wrong with him personally.

“Condition is favourable. I feel driven, invigorated, and well. In terms of games, I’m usually at my best. So, yes, I’m ready,” he declared.

“I have spent the last week getting back into training. There’s nothing to be concerned about. This is the Premier League, a top-tier sport. Thus, it also has to do with the locations. Thus, nothing peculiar about it exists.

But when there is competition for spots, it doesn’t help to wriggle around and render yourself unable to function. Usually, it’s not the greatest recipe.
