Rangers boss in Celtic reference as he addresses ace absence with ‘we don’t want to burn him alive’ message

Rangers boss in Celtic reference as he addresses ace absence with ‘we don’t want to burn him alive’ message.

In the Scottish Premiership over the weekend, Rangers won all three points.

After Celtic and Aberdeen’s thrilling victories in the closing minutes, Rangers manager Philippe Clement has emphasised that his

squad needs to play at its highest level for the entire 90 minutes. In the Scottish Premiership table, the Gers are lagging behind the two.

On Sunday afternoon, they defeated St Johnstone 2-0 at home. Winger Vaclav Cerny scored both of their goals against the Saints, but

offensive midfielder Ianis Hagi was sent off at the end.
Speaking before the match, Rangers’ manager remarked; “The games are difficult, you see the other results today. The winning goals
for the two clubs in front of us, Celtic and Aberdeen, were scored in the final five minutes. It’s important to get out to a fast start and
keep it up throughout the game.

Clement also issued an injury report on both Tom Lawrence and midfielder Connor Barron and added: “Tom Lawrence has a small

injury, nothing big, but it’s too risky to let him play minutes. We must be careful not to tire out Connor Barron, who has been playing a

lot of minutes in recent weeks and months and is very vital.

The Dutchman hinted that Rangers didn’t want to take any chances with Barron or Lawrence in order to prevent things from getting

worse. They have enough depth in their roster to make changes, and they are now taking advantage of the international break to

improve on the training pitch.

They are five points behind both Celtic and Aberdeen in the table. Their rivals have both won all seven of their opening fixtures but

play each other next so points will be dropped there.

On Sunday, October 20, the Gers will return to action as they attempt to maintain their current momentum with a trip to Kilmarnock. They have won their last three league games.

Despite their lacklustre performance, Clement expressed satisfaction with their three points against St Johnstone, saying that winning

and maintaining a clean sheet was more important than anything else. As you witnessed tonight and in earlier games, the two teams

ahead of us needed to score in the final five minutes, so we must respect every opponent.

“Every game must be taken seriously, and we did just that. However, we must also improve the calibre. It concludes a three-day run of

games, and maybe the team lacked that level of freshness in that regard. For the game to be truly over, I wanted them to score the

third or fourth goal. We missed some possibilities to be more composed, like the two goals we scored, and the custodian made some

excellent saves because we didn’t do that.

“We have to treat every game with seriousness, and we did just that. However, we also need to improve the quality. It comes at the

conclusion of a three-day stretch of games, and maybe the team lacked that level of freshness. To effectively end the game, I wanted

them to score the third or fourth goal. We didn’t do that and the goalie made some pretty fantastic saves; we had some situations

where we could have had more calmness like the two goals we scored.”
