The Heart and Hand podcaster tweeted on X (7 October) after seeing Cerny’s post-game interview at Ibrox, where the Wolfsburg loanee scored both goals. Cerny’s brace came after a poor performance against Lyon in Europe, where he missed a crucial opportunity in a 4-1 loss. He admitted to having sleepless nights recently. Edgar described the interview as honest and emotional, deviating from typical media lines.

Scoring twice against St Johnstone to extend the Gers’ winning streak in the Scottish Premiership could be the perfect way for Cerny to regain confidence following his embarrassing miss against Lyon. However, any player wearing a Light Blues jersey gets judged in the most important games, and with at least six more in Europe, Cerny will understand that the expectation is on him to perform. Cerny, who struggled in the Gers’ 3-0 loss to Celtic in the season’s first Old Firm game, will need to improve in high-level domestic contests.
The Czech international, like Neraysho Kasanwirjo, is on a straight loan at Ibrox, with any permanent transfer talks between the Gers and Wolfsburg likely to wait until the summer of 2025 (iSport, July 25).
