James, 26, has been with Leeds United since 2021 and has made 89 appearances in all competitions, three of which have come this season, and scored 18 goals. He has been out of action since the end of August due to a hamstring injury, but he has been making good progress. His contract at Elland Road expires in the summer of June 2026.

According to LeedsLive, Daniel Farke hopes to return after the international break. The Yorkshire club has upcoming home games against Sheffield United and Watford, followed by an away game against Bristol City at Ashton Gate in October.
