After the game on Friday, Mundle posted a picture of himself and Sunderland left-back Dennis Cirkin practicing at the Stadium of Light on social media. Clarke, who began his professional career with Leeds, left a three-red heart-shaped comment underneath the picture in response.

Not just the former Black Cat responded to Mundle’s post, though. The aforementioned Cirkin used the clock emoji to say, “Timeless,” while Salis Abdul Samed and recent Sunderland signings Aaron Connolly both used the fire emoji.

Additionally, head coach Le Bris put Connolly in a matchday squad for the first time on Friday. Following the game, the Frenchman gave an overview of the striker’s future strategy. “With Aaron, we didn’t want to rush the process,” he stated. He sat on the bench, and we believed that maybe by being there, he may be valuable for the squad.
