Celtic face Ross County at The Global Energy Stadium this weekend as Brendan Rodgers’ team aims to return to winning ways. The winners were crushed 7-1 by Borussia Dortmund at Signal Iduna Park in the winners League last Tuesday. Prior to this, they thrashed St Johnstone 6-0 at McDiarmid Park, maintaining their unbeaten start to the domestic season in Perth.
The home side is now seventh in the league table, having drawn four of their first seven games. They drew their last game against Hearts, who equalised in the 96th minute thanks to Lawrence Shankland. Prior to this, they shared the spoils with St Johnstone and currently have seven points. With all of that stated, whose team will Rodgers start in the Scottish Highlands? Ryan McGinlay and Tony Haggerty from The Celtic Way share their perspectives.

With one game remaining before (another) international break, Celtic must secure three points. As Aberdeen and Rangers play later in the day, Rodgers’ team can put “scoreboard pressure” on their title rivals if they win over Ross County on Sunday. Unfortunately, injuries mean that the team will have to be changed, which is not the worst thing following Tuesday night’s devastation in Dortmund.
Despite the international break, Calum McGregor will continue to play as a base midfielder. Reo Hatate is expected to return to the starting lineup in place of Paulo Bernardo, while Arne Engels will continue to play despite the Belgian international’s poor return to Germany. Despite this, I wouldn’t be surprised if Luke McCowan starts this one, though I believe he’ll be on the bench for the time being.
