Aston Villa v Man United injury news as 6 out and 4 doubts

Unai Emery and the under-pressure Erik ten Hag both have injuries to deal with before Sunday’s Premier League meeting.

On Sunday, October 6, Aston Villa will welcome Manchester United at Villa Park in their return to Premier League action.

The Villains are on a high after upsetting German giants Bayern Munich in the Champions League, thanks to a strike from super-sub Jon Duran. United, on the other hand, let a two-goal advantage slip to draw with Porto. Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hojlund put them up inside 20 minutes, but they fell behind until Harry Maguire scored in the first minute of added time to save a point.

John McGinn tweaked his hamstring during the first half of Aston Villa 3-1 Wolves.

Aston Villa team news

On Wednesday, a new injury concern developed when Jacob Ramsey was replaced after half an hour. Ramsey left and was replaced by Leon Bailey.

Amadou Onana seems to have returned from injury during Villa’s Champions League match. Onana was replaced by Ross Barkley around the hour mark, and it appeared that he had a hamstring issue.

Emery did not reveal anything about Ramsey or Onana at his post-match press conference, but he will have been assessed on Thursday, and Emery will deliver his verdict on Friday (October 4).

John McGinn is recovering from a hamstring injury sustained in the 3-1 win over Wolves. He was not selected for Scotland’s forthcoming Nations League qualifiers, which is a relief as it allows him to rest and rehabilitate.

Boubacar Kamara and Tyrone Mings are making improvement on their knee ailments. Kamara has been out since February, and Mings has been injured since August. The plan for Kamara and Mings is to play for the under-21s before returning to the top team.

Boubacar Kamara, Tyrone Mings, and John McGinn are all out. Doubt: Jacob Ramsey and Amadou Onana.
