Due to Wolverhampton Wanderers’ poor start to the season, Jorgen Strand Larsen’s remarks made during the summer transfer window have come back to haunt him. AS discusses the player today and how his declaration that he would rather play for a “inferior” team now seems a bit trite.
According to the newspaper, Larsen has experienced two years in a row of relegation struggles with Celta and now Wolves, so he has grown somewhat acclimated to them in his career. For the latter, it’s early in the season, but they’re already struggling and bottom of the Premier League with one point from six games.
That hasn’t gone unnoticed back home in Spain, where the striker found himself in hot water earlier this year after claiming he thought he could play for a team other than Celta.
Despite being in the Premier League and being viewed as a step up, AS notes that they are now below Celta. Wolves are at the bottom of the table, yet the Spanish squad is in the same division as those vying for European spots rather than those facing relegation. Naturally, things could change in the future, but for the time being, it appears they wish to aggravate Larsen’s initial Wolves injuries.
