JUST IN: A player in form from the Premier League is of interest to Chelsea; a deal including Enzo Maresca might be very important.

Liam Delap, a striker for Ipswich Town, is apparently being watched by Chelsea after making an impression in the Premier League thus far this year.

According to journalist Simon Phillips via his Substack, Enzo Maresca and other influential officials at Stamford Bridge are keeping a close eye on the gifted 21-year-old because he was once a young player for Manchester City. It’s not shocking that a major player like Chelsea is interested in Delap given that he’s currently establishing himself at the greatest level after previously battling to get playing time at Man City and spending a few loan stints with Championship teams.

Cole Palmer, 22, is now a standout player for the west London giants and a full England international. The Blues did well to sign him from City when he had likewise failed to make much of an effect in their first team.

Liam Delap transfer could hinge on another Chelsea striker decision

Despite having supporters at Chelsea, it’s unclear if Delap will become their top target anytime soon because other players are also being evaluated. Although Delap sounds like a guy worth keeping an eye on, CFC also enjoys huge stars like Evan Ferguson, Benjamin Sesko, and Viktor Gyokeres.
