The Blues, who finished last season in the Championship, broke all previous records with their summer window spending.In addition to signing Jay Stansfield from Fulham for a division record £15 million, Chris Davies’ team also signed Alfie May from the Addicks.

“We avoid choking on it by remaining modest and keeping our feet firmly planted. But the reality is we’re too good for League One.”
