Ashley Phillips is back on the Stoke City team for their midweek match against Portsmouth, while Million Manhoef is still in question.
After receiving a blow to the face during a Carabao Cup match against Fleetwood Town, Phillips—who is now on season-long loan from Spurs—had to undergo a two-week concussion protocol. However, he has been cleared to return to training and might play on Wednesday (7.45pm).
On Saturday, though, Manhoef was taken off the field early in the second half against Middlesbrough following on-field treatment for a leg injury from the physiotherapist. He was feeling under the weather before that game, but tomorrow he will have every opportunity to show that he is fit to play.
“Phillips is back, but we have doubts about Million,” stated Narcis Pelach. We’ll see if he’s prepared for tomorrow’s game because he encountered an issue in the last one. He will be evaluated in the morning.
“The aim is to be more aggressive—defensively and offensively,” he stated. I want to see the team play more like we did during the opening half an hour of our match against Hull City. We were on the front foot, trying to win the ball back up the pitch, and when we did receive the ball, we really went forward to attack and get shots off. We have been focusing on that. We aspire to be enormous. naturally much more aggressive with our concepts and the new track we’re taking, but we’re making a big effort to be much more aggressive.
