Derby County v Sunderland predicted XI

A look at the team that Warne could pick to face the Black Cats at the Stadium of Light tonight
Derby County will be aiming to secure their first away win of the season while also facing one of their biggest tests when they go to Sunderland this evening for a 7.45pm kick-off at the Stadium of Light.
Rams head coach Paul Warne has no fresh injury problems for the Championship clash as they look to bounce back from defeat to Norwich City at the weekend.
Callum Elder, David Ozoh, Tom Barkhuizen, Jake Rooney and Liam Thompson are all out of the trip to play a Black Cats side who are currently second in the Championship having had an excellent start under Regis Le Bris.
That being said, Warne will debate his team selection, particularly after Corey Blackett-Taylor’s performance as a substitute in the second half of Saturday. He scored his first goal for the club in the 3-2 defeat and impressed when he came on. Some fans have called for him to start to add some extra zip to the attack.
That is perhaps one of the calls that Warne has to make as he looks to return from Sunderland with three points and a first away win of the season in tow.
Derby County writer Leigh Curtis picks his starting XI to face the Black Cats and we also want your team selection for the clash.
Jacob Widell Zetterstrom – GK
Jacob Widell Zetterstrom moved to Derby County this summer.
Couldn’t do much about any of the goals at the weekend v Norwich but has been outstanding since his arrival from Djurgarden in the summer.

Ryan Nyambe – RB

Derby County's Ryan Nyambe (left) picked up an injury in the defeat to Charlton.
The best one v one defender in the squad but was taken off during the second half on Saturday. Might be under threat from Kane Wilson, but should get the nod.

Curtis Nelson – CB

Might well feel a bit disappointed with Borja Sainz’s second goal but showed his value at set-pieces with an assist for Craig Forsyth.

Eiran Cashin – CB

Eiran Cashin (right) counts as a homegrown player having come through the club's academy.
Nearly scored the goal of the season and probably would have wrapped up that competition when he smacked the bar from 30 yards against Norwich. Had an excellent game at the weekend.

Craig Forsyth – LB

May be approaching the twilight years of his career, but he never lets you down and oozes professionalism every time he plays. Scored his first goal of the season at the weekend.

Ebou Adams – CDM

Derby County's Ebou Adams celebrates scoring
Was excellent at the weekend but just needs to tidy up his work in possession. If he can do that, then he will be even more valuable to Derby’s cause.

Kenzo Goudmijn – CM

Kenzo Goudmijn celebrates scoring the opening goal for Derby County.
Loves taking the ball in tight spaces, packs creativity, and the best news is he is only going to get better and better. Has settled in really well in midfield.

Ben Osborn – CM

Ben Osborn of Derby County tangles with Tyrhys Dolan of Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park
Made a couple of errors in possession at the weekend but covers so much ground and works incredibly hard across the middle of the pitch. A tireless runner.

Kayden Jackson – RW

Derby County's Kayden Jackson during the Sky Bet Championship match at Bramall Lane, Sheffield
May well be kicking himself after spurning a great chance against Norwich early on. But he gives you a lot of hard work particularly from a defensive point of view.

Nathaniel Mendez-Laing – LW

Derby County's Nathaniel Mendez-Laing (right) is challenged by Watford's Ryan Andrews
Some fans have been calling for Corey Blackett-Taylor to start in place of Mendez-Laing but Paul Warne will probably resist that call and maintain faith in the winger.

Jerry Yates – CF

Derby Countys Jerry Yates celebrates his sides second goal scored by Derby Countys Kayden Jackson.
Still awaiting his first goal in Derby colours but he works so hard for the cause and takes up some intelligent positions and links well with the midfielders. The best forward at the club by a distance.
