Sunderland ‘linked’ with unlikely £30m double transfer exit ahead of January window

Sunderland ‘linked’ with unlikely £30m double transfer exit ahead of January window.

At the Stadium of Light in the Championship on Tuesday night, Sunderland takes on Derby County.

That comes after the Black Cats’ most recent match, which they lost at Vicarage Road against Watford on Saturday. This is the first of

Régis Le Bris’s three games in six days, as Leeds United will visit Wearside on Friday in the Championship.

There have been a number of transfer rumors circulating ahead of Sunderland’s matches against Derby County and Leeds United,

including two players who might leave the team for as much as £30 million in the January transfer window. But right now, it doesn’t
seem like either agreement is likely to happen.

Here, we take a look at the two Sunderland transfer reports:

The most recent team to be connected to Sunderland goalkeeper Anthony Patterson is Manchester United.

Shot-stopper Patterson is reportedly in interest to Premier League powerhouse Manchester United, as head coach Erik Ten Hag seeks

competition for Andre Onana (Alan Nixon).

According to the report, Patterson is valued at about £20 million by Sunderland and is being considered by Crystal Palace and

Liverpool. The England youth international has also been linked to Celtic and Arsenal in recent transfer seasons.

According to sources, Birmingham City is reportedly considering making a bold approach for Sunderland prodigy Chris Rigg in

January.

Premier League clubs and top European sides were vying for the 17-year-old, who signed a two-year professional contract.

with Sunderland last summer.

Rigg has played in seven league games this season, solidifying his place in Sunderland’s starting lineup and exhibiting an uncommon

level of maturity for a player his age. Nixon did, however, indicate that Birmingham City, a League One team that was demoted from

the Championship the previous year, would be interested in Rigg.

According to his source, Birmingham City is preparing a spectacular attack on Sunderland in an attempt to sign midfield sensation

Chris Rigg. The Blues want the Black Cats cutie, having already spent a lot of money on their new team in League One.

The American owners of Birmingham are aware that spending is less difficult in the third division than it will be if they go to the

Championship. They used this tactic to catch Jay Stansfield, and now they have Rigg in their sights. They might even make a bid of

nearly £10 million.
